Use FUSE (Filesystem in Userspace) to mount archive like zip or tar.gz and so on.

[1] | Install archivemount |
[root@dlp ~]# yum --enablerepo=epel -y install archivemount # install from EPEL
|
[2] | Add a user you'd like to configure to use FUSE to "fuse" group. |
[root@dlp ~]# usermod -G fuse cent |
[3] | Try to mount archive file. |
# mount an archive [cent@dlp ~]$ archivemount Archive.tar.gz ./mnt fuse init (API version 7.13) # just mounted [cent@dlp ~]$ ll ./mnt total 6880395346070933159 -rw------- 0 root root 1242 Apr 11 2012 anaconda-ks.cfg -rw-r--r-- 0 root root 9017 Apr 11 2012 install.log -rw-r--r-- 0 root root 3091 Apr 11 2012 install.log.syslog # unmount [cent@dlp ~]$ fusermount -u ./mnt
